About my Apache

Well Folks she is a 1959 Chevrolet Apache.  I saved this one from the scrap yard dogs by just moments.  I caught the owner of the vehicle just as he was pulling on the scales and offered him 100 dollars for her and he accepted.  I completely stripped her down to "Bare Bones" and went to work with the torch.  After removing all of the original running gear ie. engine trans front and rear Suspension.  I beefed up the channels and started grafting on the upgrades.  We placed a panhard/ Traction bar camaro four link under her complete with coils and sway bar.  I then moved up to engine and trans Centered a custom crossmember in the frame rails and droped in a nice matching red 350 sbc and th350 trans and conected the traction bar to the frame just behind the tail shaft.  I then set my desired ride height for the front end to give it a nice raked look and Fabbed up some control arms out of dom tubing complete with four corner heim joints and with a little geometry she now stands on carrera coil overs and tube a-arms up front with gear box power steering.  I also fabbed a bracket to accomadate a power brake booster in the original location under the floor and topped it off with willwood adjustable proportioning valve and willwood compensator check valves for a little more standby pressure.  Like I said she is equipped with a sbc and dressed up with edelbrock fuel delivery and some shinny stuff to make her stand out a bit.  We then moved on to the body.  I went with a classic Flame red with white top for those hot summer days.  I placed new front and rear bumpers, Grille, Headlight bezels, handles and mirror for just the right amount of chrome.  Also had the original hood emblem rechromed by Chrome Wizard in Nashville and like always they did an amazing job. I decided to shave the dash for a smooth look leaving only the gauge slot open and filled it with a custom milled bracket and autometer gauges.  I then reuphoulstered the original bench and placed a custom box over the gas tank behind the seat that houses a pioneer cd player and two pioneer 6x9's for a little sound while I'm cruisin.  I finished out the bed by shaving the spare tire fender and installed stained and laquered pine with stainless strips.  I added one more finishing touch and tagged the tailgate "Bare Bones" with a little House of kolor silver flake under the clear.  And of course we went with bowtie exhaust tips under the bed steps just in front of the 15X8 American Racing salt flats.
