"Bad Medicine" Owner Shannon Taylor

Before any suspension mods could get underway, Shannon removed the longbed from the truck, and performed the accompanying frame cutting and splicing necessary to accomplish such a task.  This slick fitment led the way for a custom 3 link suspension to be fitted on the 12 Bolt rear end.  Inside that posi-equipped axle is a set of 3.73 cogs.  Providing clearance for the supersized lowering is complete, through the bed bridge notch.  Up front, the lowering is accomplished with a set of Chassis Tech 3 inch drop spindles in place of the wussy stockers.

All four corners of this Chevy use 2,600 lb. air bags for drop and lift control.  One 5 gallon chromed air tank and 2 custom compressors push the air through 1/2 inch air line and individual corner control valves.  Monroe Sensatrac gas shocks smooths out any rough rides.  The sweet rolling attire finishing off this super C 10 is an order of 4 KMC Wingnuts. Two 18 x 8s do the front of this classic some justice wrapped in 245/40R 18 Goodyears.  No self respecting hot rodder would run the same sized wheels and tires front and rear, so Shannon bolted an appropriate sized 18 x 9.5 inch rear wheels with rubber by Goodyear again, but sized at 275/R40 18.  Stock front discs and rear drums bring it all down to a stop.

Under the cowl induction hood is a venerable Chevy small block with a TPI intake straight out of a Camaro.  This 350 was treated to Tuned Port Injections Specialties, port-matched upper & lower intake runners.  Helping the stock bottom end make more ponies, Corvette aluminum heads from a 92 model inhale through the modified intake and conical K & N filter.  A stock HEI distributor, Accel 8.8 Wires, Shannon wired the fuel injection with a painless wiring kit, and the computer runs with the aid of a JET Performance Chip.

Fuel is fed by way of an 18 gallon fuel cell mounted under the bed.  The 89 Camaro that donated the motor also supplied the 700-R 4 overdrive Slush Box.  A 4-speed Transmission Go Shift Kit was installed to firm up the feel.  Stock exhaust manifolds feed the fired gasses into a fully aluminumized 2.5 inch Flowmaster Exhaust system.

The exterior that draws all the attention to this ride:  Jerry Norris of Conroe, Texas is the man behind the welder, sander, & paint gun.  A plethoria of boring stock parts found a new home in the trash bin.  Front & rear bumpers, door handles, side view mirrors, wing windows, tail gate handles, fuel filler, stick tail lights, hood & grille. The front bumper was replaced with a fiberglass roll pan and the rear ommited for a weld-on pan.  The factory grille was forgone for a billet unit, stock taillights went so new clear lenses could be put in place.  One-piece side glass replaced the wing windows without any side view mirrors on the vehicle.  The factory trim and handles were removed and the filler neck for the in-cab fuel tank was sealed off forever.

Over a plain white paint base covering the inside and out-a most intense yellow:  PPG Flame Yellow Pearl.  A late 90's Chevy truck donated the seats recovered in light & medium tan pleather with rebuilt door, kick panels and headliner with matching scheme & colors, and Tan Bentley carpet for the floor.  A simple layout for tunes-a Pioneer DEH P 730 to speakers behind the seat with a 6.5 inch LCD monitor laid up behind the chrome glovebox door in a tan bowtie.  A Sony Play Station 2 is linked to the monitor for instant entertainment needs.  Driving is made more pleasurable with the NRC billet & leather steering wheel, and Auto Meter guages fit into the stock dash cluster with a stylish polished panel.  "Bad Medicine" is a culmination of almost 10 years work.
